In April 2019, Maverick stole mares Copper Penny, Paisley, Patches, and colt Poseidon from Brutus. Throughout the summer, Brutus and Maverick continued to battle for the mares until July, when Brutus lost his entire band to Maverick. In October 2020, Maverick lost Maddie to Trooper. He continued to lose mares to Trooper in January and February 2021, until Trooper had taken Maverick’s entire band. However, Maverick managed to regain his band from Trooper in July.
Throughout 2022 and 2023, Maverick frequently gained and lost mare Patches and her filly Poppy. In 2023, Patches gave birth to another filly, Piper, sired by Maverick, but they were soon separated from the band. By the end of the year, however, Patches and her fillies had returned to Maverick. In 2024, Maverick pushed Poppy out of the band, and stallion Frontier quickly took her. Unfortunately, in the same year, while Patches and Piper were temporarily away from Maverick’s band, Piper disappeared. Patches rejoined the band shortly afterward.
Maverick added mare Sundance to his band in February 2025, but he has spent most of the year dealing with a stallion in his band named Black Hawk. He took Black Hawk, his dam Grace, along with Raven’s Myst, Rumor, and Cedar from Gunner earlier in the year.
