In 2013, Clinker picked up Mare Indian Paintbrush and her younger brother, Frontier. Frontier’s dam had passed away when he was six months old so Indian Paintbrush began to look after him. Clinker accepted Frontier as Indian Paintbrush’s colt and let him stay with the band. In 2017, Frontier was a 5-year-old and showing signs of wanting control of the band. Clinker was suffering from an old injury and could not fight off the younger stallion. In the summer of 2017, Frontier took Lacey, Whiskey, and Volt from Clinker. Leaving him with only Indian Paintbrush and her colt, Indy. In the winter of 2018, he would also steal Firefly from Trooper.
