Band Changes in the Park
Hello everyone! Last month, a friend and fellow horse tracker encountered stallion Beau with four members of Flash’s band: Crow, Cricket, Minnie, and Almanac. Bachelor stallion Amite was also present, but Beau seemed to be in control of the band. Eventually, Amite gave up and returned to the bachelor pack. At that time, Flash was still holding onto Mare Bear and their colt Griz. However, recently, Flax stepped in and took the final two from Flash.
This past week, I had the opportunity to sit with Flash, as well as the bands of Flax and Beau. From the outside, Flash appears to be in good condition and moves around the park well. Beau and the mares seem more settled now, but I doubt Crow will ever accept a stallion that she did not choose herself. Bear and Griz are still very new to Flax’s band, so we will have to see how that develops over time. Below is a look at the stallions involved in this recent park saga.
