Wildrye and Arcola
Hello everyone! With everything that has been happening outside the Park, I have not had time to share much of what has happened inside with the horses. There have been several band changes that I will try and update you on, starting with this one.
Many of you know Wildrye lost his band to stallion Grady (Roosevelt) last year. It took some time, but just before winter, he did manage to get back his former mare, Little Gray, and their colt Ryely. He then took them deep into the Park, making it difficult to locate them after the snow began.
Recently, Little Gray and Ryely showed up near Wildrye’s old territory alone. It did not take long for Buster (Illinois), who took over that area once Wildrye was gone, to find the two and bring his mare Pippi back together with her dam and little brother. However, Little Gray and Ryley’s appearance without Wildrye made it even more important to locate him.
Yesterday while leaving the Park, I glassed an area Wildrye has been hiding in with the hopes of spotting him, and sure enough there he was, only he was not alone. He has a bachelor buddy right now, 2019 Stallion, Arcola. Luckily, they were in an area that has become easier to hike into, so I could get a better look at them both.
Below is a look at the boys from yesterday. They both look good, and Wildrye is very rotund. Which, out here, is a great thing! Enjoy this look at these handsome boys
