Anuk and Kodiak

The foals continue out in beautiful Theodore Roosevelt National Park!
Tonight, we want to share news of first-time mom Anuk giving birth to an adorable little colt! Her sire is stallion Frontier, but in the fall of 2020, Frontier’s brother Flax stole the band, so Flax is the likely sire to this colt. Anuk is doing a wonderful job with this little guy and has the support of her entire family.
As for a name, Anuk was named for a stream in Alaska, and the name is originally a unisex name of the Inuit, thus a Greenlandic name that means Bear. Given that, her colt was named “Kodiak” for this colt to honor his dam’s name.
Hope you had a great weekend and help us welcome this adorable little colt to the herd!
Thanks, everyone!
