A Filly for Firefly

Look who finally arrived! Firefly foaled sometime this week and had a beautiful filly. Eileen and I hiked out twice to check Firefly during her visit and we knew she needed more time despite her big size. We didn’t realize however, she needed another month! This sweetheart was definitely worth the wait. I have been trying to check on Firefly when I can but it isn’t always easy. Today, I had a feeling I should make the hike out and look for them and I am so glad I did! Help us welcome another addition to the TRNP herd! Thanks, everyone!

2007 Mare, Firefly and her 2019 Filly

Firefly went over to rest her head on Cagney, the 2018 colt out of Lacey when he turned around and gently sniffed the baby. When I left for the day, Cagney was standing close to Firefly helping her watch over the newest member of their family. That boy melts my heart at how sweet he is!
