Mare Strawberry and Her Kids

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday! I was getting ready to share this photo of Mare Strawberry snuggling her 2018 filly, Calypso, when I was reminded of another photo of Strawberry I took almost exactly 3 years ago. Strawberry had a filly, named Shenandoah, who was born on the 4th of July! I hiked out to see her when she was about 5 days old and captured the second photo below. It is one of my favorite images from the park and I thought you would enjoy it as well. Strawberry is a great mother and it’s always a pleasure to see firsthand the love she has for her foals.
