Remembering Whisper
Hello everyone. We wanted to provide an update on filly Whisper. Yesterday morning, I drove out to locate the band. When I arrived, I noticed that they were moving from one location to another. While watching them, I could see that Whisper was no longer with the group. Once the band settled in a new area to graze, I searched the place they had just left but found no signs of Whisper. After thoroughly searching the surrounding area, I hiked back to the band for a second check. Unfortunately, Whisper was still missing, and no one was calling out for her. At this time, she is presumed deceased. This outcome isn’t what we had hoped for, and we’re devastated by this week’s events.
Thank you to everyone for their support this week, both near and far. Unfortunately, I have witnessed different variations of this in the park over the years and still struggle with each one today. So, to all those involved, know I understand, and my heart goes out to you as well. The photos below were taken when Whisper was still with her dam, Pepper. Run wild and free forever, Whisper, and know you will never be forgotten.
