Summer and Shelby

Hello everyone! This past week in the park has been particularly tough, but sometimes the universe surprises us with a little joy to help lighten our hearts. That joy came yesterday when Summer (Zoe), a 2022 mare in Buster’s (Illinois) band, safely gave birth to her first foal. She is an adorable filly and has been given the name Shelby. Both Summer and Shelby are doing well, and Summer is proving to be a natural mother. She is also fortunate to have her older sister, Starlet (Oakley), by her side, watching over them. Please join us in giving a warm welcome to the newest member of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park herd!
