Update on Wind Dancer
Hello everyone! We are going to briefly jump away from Frontier’s band today to discuss the stallion you see below. This is 2014 Wind Dancer (Yoakam), one of our handsome bachelors running in the park. He has been having a rough time this year and I wanted to ask that you send some positive thoughts his way.
He was injured last year during a time when a lot of fighting was happening with the stallions on the south side of the park. This spring when he came to the loop road, he had lost some weight but was moving well. A few weeks later, however, I went looking for him again and was not prepared for what I found. He had dropped a significant amount of weight and was struggling to move.
These horses are fighters though and today was a better day. He has since gained some weight and is walking better. He is still thin but believe me when I say what I saw today was a HUGE improvement. We will do our best to keep an eye on him and pray he continues to heal. Below is a look at him from our visit this morning. Hang in there Wind Dancer!
