Hello everyone! Here is a closer look at Mare Lorena’s new filly by Wildrye. The public has chosen to call her Lorelye after her dam and sire. This is the first foal for Lorena and I have to say she is doing an outstanding job. Over the years, she has helped look after the foals of her bandmates Paige, Little Gray, and Trouble’s Girl. Now that she has a little one of her own, you can definitely see that experience is paying off. Her new filly is adorable and appears to be doing great. Below are a few photos of my afternoon with them. I will write under each photo so be sure to scroll through. Have a great weekend and stay safe <3
Family photo: Lorelye, Lorena, and Wildrye – This cross is on the south boundary of the park. I believe this land is privately owned and that is why the cross is there but I do not know for sure. I see Wildrye’s band near it from time to time but this was the first time I have actually photographed the band in front of it.

Mare Lorena and her 2020 Filly, Lorelye
The story behind this photo is pretty cute. Lorelye was nursing off of Lorena and started to get sleepy. You can see in the photo she is resting against Lorena and beginning to doze off. Lorena, being the good mom she is, stood there and let her sleep for a minute until she woke on her own and then immediately began to nurse again. <3
