Frosty Makes History

Hello everyone! This is a post I have been waiting to do for the past several months. I had hoped to share it at the beginning of the year, but the weather this year so far has been incredibly harsh and hindered tracking the horses immensely. However, yesterday, the loop road finally opened, and there was the girl I had been looking for: Mare Frosty!
Why was I so excited to see her? Well, this beautiful girl turned 26 years old with the New Year. I asked around last year and as far as anyone knows, that makes her the oldest documented horse who has lived inside Theodore Roosevelt National Park. No other horse has been documented to reach the age of 26 while in the park! Amazing!! She continues to run in Applewood’s band with her longtime bandmate Pretty Girl. While we would all love to see her still running side by side with Red Face, seeing her still running the park at 26 is absolutely wonderful and a blessing to all who love her. The photo below was taken yesterday afternoon. Happy Birthday, Frosty!!
