Remembering Jasper
Hello everyone. It is with extremely heavy hearts that we share with you an update concerning Casper’s band. The band has been checked several times over the past two weeks and the young colt Jasper, out of Mare Berkleigh, is no longer with them. He is presumed deceased as he cannot survive without Berkleigh at this age.
This winter has been challenging, and the days I could hike were dedicated to checking on Jasper, especially after he sustained his injury. More visits meant more time spent watching him. During moments like this, I witness firsthand the incredible strength these horses possess, even as foals. Jasper was no different from those who came before him, and I assure you, he fought with everything he had.
This never gets easier, and today our hearts hurt. He was a wonderful addition to our lives and this herd for the short time we had him, and he will never be forgotten. Run wild and free forever, sweet Jasper, and know that you were loved.
