Granite’s Boy and Indy

Hello everyone! It has been an interesting week out in the park with lots of changes. I have been enjoying hiking with Eileen and watching it all unfold. Today I thought I would bring you a look at a crazy day with Granite’s Boy and Indy. These horses are so used to this terrain and very sure-footed but sometimes they still make me nervous. The boys were grazing and relaxing high on a butte one afternoon when Indy decided he needed to be in a lower spot. I watched as he chose to go down in the center of the butte rather than at an angle. As he began to descend, I think he went faster than expected. At one point, even Granite’s Boy turned to make sure his buddy was alright. He made it safely down only to return back up about five minutes later. I included a wide shot of the entire butte to give you a perspective of what would have happened had he not been able to stop….crazy horse! Be sure to read through each photo below. Enjoy and thanks, everyone!
